We are excited to host you back to our fitness facilities and have prepared a detailed plan for your return. We thank you for your continued support and patience during the closure of the gym. We are committed to providing you with a safe and comfortable environment upon your return.
In response to reopening/opening the fitness facilities, Heavens Fitness Ltd. has drafted our Necessary Nine Safety Readiness Plan and Protocol for all of our fitness centers. This plan has been initiated to ensure the health and safety of our participants and team members. The nine elements of the readiness plan are as follows:

Similar to the Alberta Government’s relaunch strategy, we are focused on a strategic, measured and controlled phased approach so we do not impact the future phases of opening the facility. We appreciate the support of our members and look forward to hosting your social guests very soon.
Based on this plan and in conjunction with property management companies, our facilities will open with the following guidelines:
CLEANING AND SENSITIZATION
Top-grade disinfectant & more frequent daily cleaning.
Disinfecting all high-touch surfaces before and after every workout.
In addition to existing continuous cleaning protocols, we will add a rigorous, deep-cleaning and disinfecting process twice daily.
We will be increasing the size of our Maintenance/Supervision team as well as asking all team members to support these rigorous cleaning protocols
MODIFIED CLUB HOURS
We will be modifying our club operating hours to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfecting
Members will be asked to use hand sanitizer when entering the facility, throughout their visit as well upon exit.
Members will be asked to use disinfectant wipes on equipment before and after use in addition to the Heavens Fitness Ltd. cleaning protocols. Our disinfectant wipes are government approved for use against COVID-19 and will be available throughout the facility.
Our team members will be asked to wear face masks/screens and gloves.
Members and our teams will be required to complete a mandatory Health Declaration before entering the facility to confirm they are not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, nor have they come in contact with someone who is experiencing symptoms.
Our teams will have temperature checks taken prior to entering the club via touchless thermometers. Per AHS guidelines, individuals with a body temperature greater than 100.4 degrees will not be permitted entry into the facility.
Masks are mandatory.
Instructor and Personal Trainer safety. Instructors and Personal Trainers will be asked to keep a distance and only assist when absolutely required. Personal Trainers will be required to wear face masks/screens and gloves.
Notification Members will be asked to alert the facility’s General Manager if they test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of their last club visit. We will email notification to all potentially exposed persons if there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 at a Heavens Fitness Ltd. facility.
NEW CHECK-IN PROCESS
Limited Club Capacity: Members will be asked to book a club visit in advance using the facility Mind Body software. Those who schedule a Personal Training session will automatically have the visit booked for them. To access the cardio equipment, weight room or Group Fitness classes, members will need to reserve a space. Visits are not limited to one member/day, but are subject to club capacity.
Bookings: Booking times will be in 60 minute increments. This will allow for check in, workouts and social distancing at the end of workouts. There will be a ¼ hour window between booking times to allow for additional disinfecting and cleaning as week as to allow for staggered entry for social distancing purposes. Members must arrive at scheduled time, after that, access to the facility will not be available.
Social distancing floor markers: To help us all keep a safe distance in the facility, floor markers will indicate the space you have reserved. Additional floor markers will indicate the flow of traffic within the facility.
Water Bottles, towels and mats. We encourage members to bring their own filled water bottle, sweat towel and mat to help us keep our facility clean. Outside of these items, we ask that Members keep personal items brought into the facility to a minimum (keys, wallets). These items will need to be stored in your assigned workout space.
During the initial reopening period, the following will be closed: water fountains, steam rooms, air conditioning and oscillating fans and childminding.
*windows will be opened to promote natural ventilation.
* During scheduled group fitness classes, studio doors will remain open to allow for additional natural ventilation.
Effective September 21, 2020 We are pleased to announce the partial reopening of our locker rooms and shower facilities.
*Please note that reservations bookings will remain 1-hour. The 1-hour session includes time to shower/change if you choose to do so.
- Locker rooms will be available during reservation booking time slots.
- Locker rooms will be on a first come, first serve basis with a capacity of 6 people in each locker room. (this capacity will include those with permanent locker rentals)
- Vanity space will have a capacity of 2/vanity.
- Personal blow dryers will not be permitted.
- Any amenities such as lotion, Qtips and cotton balls will not be available at this time.
- Locker rooms will be sanitized between booking reservations.
Showers: 2 showers will be open in each locker room. Showers are open M - F, CLOSED on weekends.
- Towels and towel rental service will remain paused.
- Shampoo, conditioner and soap will be available for use in the showers.
- Sanitizer spray bottles will be available to spray down shower, soap, shampoo and conditioner touch points following shower use.
- Showers will be cleaned and sanitized nightly.
- Two washroom stalls will be open in the ladies locker room
- One urinal and one washroom stall in the men’s locker room.
Steam rooms: will remain temporarily paused.
Academy information- no card drop, touchless transactions/sanitization.
GROUP FITNESS ETIQUETTE
Class Bookings. To ensure physical distancing, Group Fitness class sizes will be limited. Advance booking will be required to attend and can be done through the facility Mind Body software.
Studios -Studios will be open 10 minutes before class start times. Members will be asked to use hand sanitizer before entering the studios. Studios will be closed and unavailable for use between classes to ensure the studio and all equipment is disinfected.
Equipment - All Group Fitness classes, including Cycling, will be designed to facilitate physical distancing between members. Our team will set up the studio beforehand with equipment. If a member requires other equipment, a team member will be available to assist. Only team members will be permitted in the equipment area.
Hands on Adjustments or Corrections - No hands-on adjustments will occur.
CARDIO AND WEIGHT EQUIPMENT ETIQUETTE
Equipment Use - To facilitate physical distancing, we will reduce equipment available for use. Select equipment will be unplugged and clearly marked “not for use” to facilitate physical distancing. If a member requires other equipment, a team member will be available to assist.
Personal Training Sessions: Members will be asked to practice physical distancing etiquette during Personal Training sessions. Trainers and instructors will remain six feet away from clients and all cueing and corrections will be done verbally. Virtual Personal Training will be available.
