Another year done and complete, let’s celebrate 20- 20-YOU by being in your best health yet!
A healthy lifestyle is a lifelong commitment, finding balance between good nutrition, physical activity, and mental wellness. Part of this balance is being ok with setbacks and challenges. It’s ok to fall off the wagon, it happens to everyone. In fact, it can be good to help reset and get those “cravings” out of your system.
Here are a few tips to help you on your path to a healthy 20-20-you.…
1/ Limit the goals you set to one or two small goals each week. Achievable, consistent goals will help you along the path to lifelong change. For example, instead of saying “I’m going to workout every day this week”, try “I’m going to add at least one workout to my schedule this week.” Achievable goals lead to better success in the long run.
2/ Put some time into planning how things will look moving forward and how you plan to get there. Don’t hesitate to consult an expert. Your health and wellness is worth the investment.
3/ Change is a process – be kind, loving and patient with yourself and your goals.
4/ Ask for support from family and friends, they are always there for you.
5/ Renew your motivation. Once you start along your path, take the time to reconnect with why you set the goal/s in the first place and ask what’s needed to keep you motivated to stay on track!
6/ Learn and Adapt – one thing the last couple of years has taught us is that we have to learn from what is happening and adapt (without saying that dreaded word, PIVOT…) Setbacks will happen, adapt and keep moving forward. It may not be along your original path but moving forward is still moving ahead!
